|Waller ISD Bands|
The Waller High School Band, led by Grant McWilliams, is a competitive 4A program. Its 140+ members participate in Marching Band, Concert Ensembles, Indoor Color Guard, Indoor Percussion, Jazz Ensemble, and a host of other musical activities. The Waller High School "Bulldog" Band is a UIL Sweepstakes winning program (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011) and a 2007, 2009, and 2011 UIL 4A State Marching Contest qualifier.
The Waller ISD Bands vary in size and instrumentation, experience level, and each play a variety of music pieces. Waller ISD follows a set educational program which dictates particular styles of pieces that are standard to the music curriculum. Such curricula includes concert, marching, percussion, and color guard routines that are in line with the required TEKS Fine Arts guidelines. The Director of Bands works with the band staff to determine the curriculum and routines that will be taught and rehearsed to prepare for performance competitions and concerts.
The Waller ISD Bands course offerings begin in junior high in the 6th grade and are offered up to the 12th grade at Waller High School. The high school bands performs at community events, school athletic events, concerts and UIL level competitions. We invite you to support our band program and hope you attend some of the many community events. It is our honor to perform for you so you can witness firsthand the development and success of our Waller ISD Band students.
